Extras, The Kimono Series

The Kimono Series: Ramen Girl

It’s been a while since I’ve made any sketches, so here’s an extra one I made just for fun. It was inspired by a very colourful (and delicious) bowl of ramen (Japanese noodle soup with Chinese origins) my boyfriend and I had in Oyama city, where we spent our year in Japan.

The minute the bowl was placed in front of me I had to take a picture because this look instantly popped into my head. As soon as I got home I drew it and it’s one of my favourite sketches so far. I would definitely wear this look anytime (if I could), and I’ve just purchased a short leather skirt so, if anyone knows where I can get designs printed onto sweatshirts please let me know!

What do you think? Would you wear this look? Let me know in the comments! And I’ll try and have some new sketches to try and keep this thing going.

New Country, New Life

Hey everyone!

Sorry for the radio silence, but, as some of you might know, I’ve just moved back to Portugal, my home country. I’ve spent the last month getting things organized and waiting in line in chilly government buildings.

However, I’m finally feeling like I’ve settled into my new life (even though it is a temporary life – I’ll be moving to the UK after the summer) and am finally ready to continue this blog, as well as the accompanying Instagram account (check it out here).

I’ve made quite a few changes to my life. I’ve started working out and going to kung fu lessons in Lisbon, I’ve been driving a car and can finally go back to baking (I didn’t own a stove in Japan)! So, as my life is quite different now from what it was in Japan, I thought the blog should also reflect this.

I’m still an avid follower of Japanese fashion trends, but I’d like to try and show a bit of what’s happening here in Portugal, especially now that Lisbon is trending! Portugal is a beautiful country and I hope to get some people interested in coming over to visit.

So, I’d like to introduce some Portuguese fashion bloggers that I follow and hope you’ll have a look:

Miss Tangerine
Confessions Of A Shopaholic
Maria Guedes
Sempre Na Moda

Click on the pictures to go check them out. Their blogs are in Portuguese, but as usual with fashion blogs there are a lot of pictures.

I’ll be back soon!

Merry Christmas!

I’ve finally moved back to Portugal! After 15 amazing months of living in Japan, I’ve decided to spend this year back home with my family.

However, as I am still organizing my life and trying to see relatives and friends, I don’t have a lot of time on my hands, especially because I’m clearing my closets of clutter, as well as my room.

So, just to keep up with my blog’s schedule, I’ve decided to just share my Christmas look, which was very simple but cute nonetheless (at least I thought so). Also, I think it’s the first picture I’ve posted of me wearing make-up, and that you can thank my lovely aunt for.

This sweater was one of my finds when I tried on all those velvety clothes that are so popular in Japan, and it’s so fluffy and soft! I think you can still buy in GU, but I don’t know if they ship worldwide.

And here’s a close look at my make up:

She made my eyes look so big! She used my new Supercat eyelines, from Soap & Glory, and it’s amazing! It was definitily a great buy! She also used a really nice blush from Benef!t and I love it, I’ll definitely go and look for it!

Well, that’s it everyone. Sorry for the short, pointless post, but I did write it in a few minutes. I’ll try and write something better in the future, but for now, Merry Christmas! And I hope you’re having a wonderful time with your family and friends!

Ines does fashion on Instagram!

Hey guys! If you’ve rolled down my blog you’ll see that I have an Instagram account of the same name! I created it as part of my “Find My Own Style Project” and I post on it everyday. The reason why I created it wasn’t because I wanted to get followers (although if it helps me I won’t complain) but because I wanted there to be an account that just shows the reality of everyday life.

So, on my account you’ll just see my honest everyday outfits, even if they’re repetitive or just bad they’ll be there. I also add no filters whatsoever and so far haven’t worn any makeup at all. I’m not saying that I’ll never wear any, it’s just to show you what I’m trying to do with this account.

And to give you an even better idea, here’s the pictures that I’ve shared so far.

One thing I did find doing this project is how hard it is to take a picture! Especially when you’re on your own and all you have is your phone and nothing else. And it’s so embarrassing posing! I have new found respect for Instagrammers. They must take so many pictures before getting to the one they post! I’ve told myself that I wouldn’t be one of those people that takes 500 pictures just to get the perfect one, but it’s difficult.

I’ve taken 5 pictures at most to get one I like to put on Instagram, but recently I’ve tried to post the first one. I think this will be a good exercise on lifting my self esteem. We have to learn to accept ourselves and the way we look. That’s why I’m loving this project, and hope more will join me!

Love yourselves! And don’t forget to follow me on Instagram for more embarrassing pictures!
