Merry Christmas!

I’ve finally moved back to Portugal! After 15 amazing months of living in Japan, I’ve decided to spend this year back home with my family.

However, as I am still organizing my life and trying to see relatives and friends, I don’t have a lot of time on my hands, especially because I’m clearing my closets of clutter, as well as my room.

So, just to keep up with my blog’s schedule, I’ve decided to just share my Christmas look, which was very simple but cute nonetheless (at least I thought so). Also, I think it’s the first picture I’ve posted of me wearing make-up, and that you can thank my lovely aunt for.

This sweater was one of my finds when I tried on all those velvety clothes that are so popular in Japan, and it’s so fluffy and soft! I think you can still buy in GU, but I don’t know if they ship worldwide.

And here’s a close look at my make up:

She made my eyes look so big! She used my new Supercat eyelines, from Soap & Glory, and it’s amazing! It was definitily a great buy! She also used a really nice blush from Benef!t and I love it, I’ll definitely go and look for it!

Well, that’s it everyone. Sorry for the short, pointless post, but I did write it in a few minutes. I’ll try and write something better in the future, but for now, Merry Christmas! And I hope you’re having a wonderful time with your family and friends!

Ines tries… velvet trousers!

As part of my trying to find my own style, I decided to try wearing things that I would never pick off the rack at a store. I wanted to try out popular fashion items (in Japan) before I finally leave to see if I liked them and if maybe they were worth buying.

Nowadays you see a lot of velvet items around, from blouses to jackets to trousers. In Japan they’re extremely popular and I see people wearing them every day. That’s why I thought I just had to try it out.

Let’s star with one of the most popular items: velvet trousers!

As you can tell by my expression, I’m not too keen on these. I see people wearing these specific ones every day and can sometimes look cute, but they just look like pjs to me. I know I’m only wearing them with a basic top (which was just there for warmth that day) and that I should have spiced it up, but they just made my butt look flat and weren’t very flattering. So, no go for me, but if you’re interested they’re from Uniqlo and you can find them here.

But I wasn’t beaten yet! So I tried a few other trousers.

So, once again, I wasn’t quite convinced. These were still wide and pj like, but they also had a floral pattern and were pleated. But still, they made my butt look flat and I just couldn’t see myself walking around in these at home. They were from Honeys. I couldn’t find them online, but here’s their online store.

Ok so, this wasn’t going well, but I still tried one more pair!

I seriously didn’t know I was making this expression when I took the picture, but it does reflect my feelings towards these trousers. This time I tried to copy the look from the pictures in the shop, and still didn’t like them, even though they were a beautiful colour. Anyway, they were from GU and you can find them here.

So, no success with the velvet trousers. Maybe I’ll be luckier next time I try something new. I still haven’t given up on owning a velvet piece of clothing!

What do you think? Would you wear any of these? Let me know in the comments!
